Andrew Prentis - Veterinary Surgeon

Andrew Prentis BVSc MRCVS, veterinary surgeon

Andrew has been a veterinary surgeon since 1981. He set up the Hyde Park Veterinary Centre in 1998. Before that he had worked in private practice in London and Kent, for the RSPCA , overseas in north Africa and more recently teaching at the Royal Veterinary College. He has always has a strong interest in complementary medicine and continues to teach at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Odile Sicouri

Odile Sicouri BSc BVMS MRCVS, veterinary surgeon

Odile qualified in Perth Australia in 1993. She has worked in private practice in Australia and the UK, as well as numerous animal and wildlife projects in Australia, Indonesia and India. At Murdoch University she was a Registrar in Small Animal Emergency Medicine and Critical Care,  taught Animal Ethics & Welfare and worked with endangered Australian marsupials. Since coming to the UK in 2004 she has worked at several veterinary emergency clinics and has been at Hyde Park since 2005.

Tim Hopkins BVSc (Hons) MSc (WAH) MRCVS, veterinary surgeon

Tim qualified as a vet in 2007 from Sydney University, Australia. After graduation he undertook an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the multidisciplinary specialist hospital featured on Bondi Vet. Since coming to the UK, he has worked extensively in cat and dog medicine, particularly in emergency and critical care. Most recently he gained his Masters degree in Wild Animal Health from the Institute of Zoology and the Royal Veterinary College. This involved clinical practice at London and Whipsnade zoos and a research project on polychlorinated biphenyl toxicity in Harbour porpoises (Phocoena phocoena). He now works part time at London zoo on the Species Recovery Programme, ensuring endangered animals for reintroduction are fit and healthy and that they will not harm the existing environment on release (Institute of Zoology Research).
We are delighted to welcome him to our regular team to take care of all the very small, feathered or scaly creatures who come our way.

Martina TH

Martina Majavacchi DVM MRCVS, veterinary surgeon

Martina qualified from the Veterinary School in Milan in 2010. She worked in several small animal veterinary clinics in northern Italy until coming to the UK in spring 2011. Martina has been with us at the Hyde Park Veterinary Centre since June 2011. She has a special interest in clinical pathology and is often to be found staring down a microscope. She enjoys all aspects of pet practice and will be joining the team full time at Davies Veterinary Specialists at their main hospital in Hertfordshire this Autumn.

Both Andrew and Odile are happy to consult in French. Martina is also happy to consult in Italian.
